The 2023 Chevy Silverado, at its starting price costs, about $36,700 for the Work Truck trim. Its most expensive trim, the High Country, costs about $64,000. That is just the starting price for the most expensive trim as it can cost more than that with added packages and features should you want them.
We will list out the trims and their prices below for reference, these are just the absolute base prices as different bodies and engines drive the price up. We recommend at least starting with the Custom Trailboss or LT trims and higher unless you plan on making these trucks part of a fleet. The Work Truck is incredibly spartan in its standard features and available options. Going with the Custom Trailboss and higher give you slightly more bang for your buck.
We personally prefer the Custom Trailboss or the Trailboss for the added off-roading capability that can come with either of those such as the Z71 off-road suspension, larger and upgraded tires, and a factory life. The Trailboss trims also come with the fancy new hood that has the center “vent” blacked out. If you want the most comfort focused and luxury oriented trim we recommend going with the High Country, as it is the most decked out with all the goods.
The 2023 Chevy 5.3 engine is a solid engine, with 8 cylinders stacked side by side it is built to get the job done. Almost all of the engines on the Silverado are worth writing home about, as they are built to be made for the toughest job sites and hardest working people in America. The 5.3 liter V8 might be the smaller of the two 8 cylinders, but it gets to work with 355 horsepower and can still tow up to 11,500 pounds. This is shy of the 13,300 pounds that the Chevy can tow at its best. The 5.3 Liter V8 is also known for its reliability, being on the shorter end of the V8 does not make it any less reliable or durable than the larger V8.
Beyond the smaller 5.3 liter V8 there are also various other engines offered by the Chevy pickup. The base engine is a turbo 4 cylinder that makes for 420 pound feet of torque, this engine can tow up to 9,500 pounds when properly equipped. The next tier engine is the 5.3 liter V8 which has already been described above. The third tier engine is the 6.2 liter V8 that can tow up to 13,300 pounds with 420 horses and 460 lb ft of torque. The final engine is not necessarily the top tier, but is a diesel engine option that has 305 horsepower out of the famed Duramax 6 cylinder, and 495 pound feet of torque and is also rated for 13,300 pounds.
